Tattoo (Findings so far)

Tattoo is an art. It is also defined as an art that involves insertion of ink (temporary or permanent) for the body modification. Till date, I have met more than 10 professionals, young, energetic and awesome artists in Nepal.

There are numerous tattoo studios. Each one is owned and operated by well trained and professional artists who make a good amount of income.

The society´s perception has also changed in time. The negative mentality has decreased to an unimaginable degree. Along with the traditional design, modern designs have also risen in the industry. Modern tattoo involves both traditional designs and modern designs (creativity and customization).

The tattoo trend is completely different now. Today´s tattoos are very complex. In the past, people used to get simple tats like 3 dots at the side of eyes, sun on above the wrist and various simple designs on their ankle.
I am very delighted by the daily progress. Till date, 10 stories have been published and three stories are already completed. And more stories are coming up.

Amazingly, I also met the first professional tattoo artist (Babu Raja Pradhan´s) son. According to various artists, Sir Babu was the first artist who used the western technologies. Moreover, he was the first artist to visit the foreign lands for the tattoo conventions and get trained by professional artists. I will reveal the story of Sir Babu Raja at the end of the month with much details and interesting facts that cannot be found in any media (printed or online).

There is a huge market for tattoo. In India, tattoo progressed rapidly leaving Nepal behind. However, young artists can take a great advantage of the emerging market because along with modern technologies various tattoo conventions and training takes place. Plus, there is daily flow of clients searching for well trained artists who offer good prices for their designs.

There is not a single person who wishes to remove their tattoo. However, there are number of clients who visit the studio for cover up. We can call it a tattoo modification. I am glad and amazed at the same time. Every individual ink for dedication or in memory in the form of portraits especially. Every artists I met during this phase taught me that one should get inked from;
  1. From a professional and well trained artist one can trust
  2. From a studio that is well respected and good in the industry
  3. Get inked for a purpose rather than fashion
  4. Get inked with meaning not to remove later (No regrets later)
  5. Legend lives and Legends are born everyday
The stories will continue because legends are born everyday………………
